Hiroki Nobukawa is the 2011 world Othello champion!

The 35th World Othello Championship was held in Newark, USA from November 2nd to November 5th.

Hiroki Nobukawa(seen on the top two photos) of Japan is the new world champion after defeating Thailand’s Piyanat Aunchulee by 2 games to 1 in the finals.
Nobukawa also won the team championship for Japan along with his teammates Kazuki Okamoto and Tomoya Toda.

Jian Cai of the USA is the new women’s world champion defeating Yoko Sano of Japan in the ladies final.

Australia (Matt Vinar & Scott Hughes, seen on the two bottom photos) finished 13th from 23 countries.
